Was wondering if anyone can help with the following query. I'm getting this error message. The backup state completed 100% and the time taken to backup looks right, the verify however is stop at around 40% randomly with different backups. Not with every some go through fine. It'll show certain files in red and produce the above error message. I been through the knowledge base and tried the restarting of the software this has little affect. Any help with this would be much appreciated.

This error has now appeared following on from the previous post. It seems I get this error first: Error 4030: Illegal request With this happening in the verify log: Pass type Backup Selected 205389 objects, 97.83 GB Completed 205389 objects, 97.83 GB (100%) Pass type Auto Verify Selected 205389 objects, 97.83 GB Completed 116301 objects, 66.41 GB (68%) Warnings or errors 1 objects, 128 KB (0%) Not attempted 89087 objects, 31.41 GB (32%) Selected 205389 objects, 97.83 GB Completed 116301 objects, 66.41 GB (68%) Warnings or errors 1 objects, 128 KB (0%) Not attempted 89087 objects, 31.41 GB (32%) Then right at the very bottom I recieved this message: Error 4408: Object end not found Ver: vncconfig.exeThis is happening quiet regular, we have done everything required on the knowledge base that can be found in relation to these errors, but nothing has worked. Any help with this would be much appreciated. Thank you.

Illegal request is usually a device related error, what device are you backing up to?

What version of the software are you using? Also does this error happen with any LTO media you use or just with a specific tape?Try running a secure erase of the tape [can take a long time] and retry the backup.

I hope you find the answer. We are on 8.5sp2 and this problem started appearing and we have been unable to get any resolution. If you check the net, you'll see it was addressed in some old yosemite forum posts, but there is no access to those.

dollshouse: the title of your post indicates illigal request but you posted a log that was complete except one file. Does the error always happen? This is a fairly generic device error so we need to do some troubleshooting. Do all the tapes give you that error? what if you exclude the single file that was flailing, does illegal request still happen?tuvia: Please explain exactly how the error presents itself and at what regularity, also what device are you backing up to.

We have a variety of drives, including HP718, Exabyte VXA. But our main problem is the socket error 51 I mentioned in another thread. That error is demonstrable repeatable and will force us to switch products.
