The expected release was supposed to be January 2013. Due to thorough QA still in progress, we expect it to last through august for an ideal candidate in September.

I have been Running 6.0.28 since May with no issues. Haven't seen new firmware come through at all since. Ha.

Hi again, I am getting hounded by the CEO today. He is frustrated we don't have a GA of firmware 6. I have been posting since last year on this and I should never have told him about it.

Any news I can pass along to him?

We expect 5.1.4 to become GA in 2nd week of Nov

We expect 6.0 to become GA slightly after that

I hate to say it but I'm very skeptical at this point. We've been hearing this for quite some time.

Us too !

I definetly understand, but I graciously respect our QA departments ability to find and straighten out product flaws that would otherwise provide you with a potentially unsatisfactory experience with your Barracuda Networks product.

Thanks Matt. I appreciate you keeping us updated. I'm actually hoping the new firmware will help alleviate the unsatisfactory experience with the device we currently have.

Matt,

Any update on the 6.0 firmware going General Release?  it is mid month and no 5.1.4 yet.  Will 6.0 apply to all model 300's when available?  We are running beta 6.00.28 or 29 on a newer SN Model 300 with no issues.  We have another older SN Model 300 that was not offered the beta in the firmware window.  Please elaborate on the plan.

Good day Matt,

Thanks for answering the first part of my question.  What about the second part, availability of 6.0 to all serial numbers?

Thanks,

Charles

the reason not all serials see this is we have it on a slow and selective roll out where we randomize who can see it. That way we can slowly get feedback on how the firmware is performing as opposed to just flat releasing it 100% and the potential of a bug we may not have caught.

if you'd like us to force your unit to see this we certainly can, we just need you to call in to ask for your unit to see the firmware.

I'm eager to see what 6.0 brings, but happy to wait for QA so we don't have a Vista experience with it.

Hi,

I see version 6 has been removed from "early release". Is this a good thing?

Meaning that at this time 10% of your devices have it listed as early release? And GA release candidate will go to GA how soon?

Our CEO is going to be so happy when this finally comes out.

10% random serials see it currently, and will increase over the week or next week.

We expect full GA after the 1st of 2014

Is the large attachment portion of firmware 6 still there? I was reading the release notes and it is not mentioned.

In 6.0.2 we removed the large attachment feature if you were not using it previously.

If you had it enabled befure upgrade it should continue to function for you

That was probably the best addition to the Version 6 firmware. Has this been moved to a future release or has it been scrapped all together?
