Newly delivered units will be preinstalled with 5.2.2 shortly.

As always it is highly recommended to read the Release and Migration Notes: Barracuda NG Firewall 5.2.2 Release and Migration Notes

Barracuda NG Firewall firmware release 5.2.2 contains a fix for a firmware issue in 5.2.1 that will prevent the underlying Malware Protection engine from being in an unlicensed state after 2011-12-31.We recommend when using either Malware Protection or Web Security subscription with firmware 5.2.1on Barracuda NG Firewall to install the update on hand in order to avoid a service interruption.
(Please note that this only applies to units licensed with Barracuda licenses, customers using legacy phion licenses using a "HBEDV.key" file are not affected by this issue)

In order to activate the proxy support for multi core CPUs (for units F400 and above) please apply hotfix 438 "Hotfix_438_proxy_multicore_5.2.2" after installing patching to 5.2.2.
