We had a Sonic SOHO Firewall and had emplemented SIP phones without issue. We recently installed the NG Firewall and have had major issues getting it "tweaked" for our SIP phones to work properly. We have tried to find documentation on this but thus far to no avail. I had support look at it and we still are having issues. The phones work fine but our ring-in group is inconsistent.

We have 8 out of 25 phones in a ring group but only some of the phones ring and when we reset them, the ones that were ringing before reset now may ring or not. It is very bizarre. They work perfectly when we reconnect the old SonicWall.

Any Ideas?????

Do you have any events in Firewall>>Threat Scan which might indicate some traffic is being blocked by IPS or App control policies?

Have you changed the default egress rule, which allows only certain ports/protocols but not SIP?

There's pretty good support for external SIP Trunks, SCCP and H.323 - read up about it in the Admin Guide - Chapter "Voice over IP" ..
