I have a Spam Firewall that I am to deploy at a customer that is currently using a host mail solution. Their mail is hosted by Godaddy. I was told that this configuration is supported, but I can not find any documentation on it. I am assuming the flow would go like this.
  • MX record for domain directs mail to the site where the SF is located
  • Mail is then filtered by the SF
  • The "Destination Mail Server TCP/IP Configuration" (on the SF) is pointed to the MX records of Godaddy "smtp.secureserver.net"
  • The user continues to download mail via a POP3 connection from Godaddy with Outlook.

Can anyone verify that this works?

Hi ryan, and thank you for contacting Barracuda Network technical forums,

Your methodology there is perfect and how several of our customers maintain their email flow.

Some larger organizations use the LDAP routing functionality on model 600s and above to achieve split routing to the cloud or locally as well.
