I am testing out Traffic Shaping on the NG Firewall, the appliance is a VF100 although I guess it is standard across the range.

I think I can see how to configure based on an interface however I would like to be able to traffic shape between devices on the network as I know which of the device are the heavy bandwidth users. Is this possible to do this?

Also I cannot seem to figure out how to assign a QoS Class to a traffic type, I have assigned a QoS profile to a firewall rule but how does it know whether the traffic is Class 1,2 or 3 which is setup in the QoS to divide the allocated bandwidth.

Thanks for your help in advance.

hi,

when configuring Traffic Shaping you'll need to create QoS Bands along with that. These QoS Bands are applied to Firewall Rules in the Ruleset (just below the Source / Service /Destinatino Part of a Rule, there's a Section with dropdown menus where you can choose from your ddefined QoS Bands. it's in the middle).
