Please include the IEC 60870-5-104 protocol (tcp/2404), also known as SCADA or IEC 104. It´s widely used in electric power systems for telcontrol and telecommunication.

I can provide a tcpdump later on if neccessary.

rgds, Peter.

Alois Klingler

It would be nice to have screenconnect detected/implemented.  I believe this is the tool used for https://connect.barracuda.com/

hey Guys,

We use VMware View (Client/Application ports), could you add this application?

VMware View uses RDP and PCoIP to connect to the Virtual Desktops, VDI.

RDP is known protocol, PCoIP uses TCP 4172.

in our case all traffic described in the document passes through the NG Firewall.

to understand the flow and traffic;

http://pubs.vmware.com/view-50/index.jsp#com.vmware.view.planning.doc/GUID-6C7A534B-085C-4C64-94CE-EA3ABDDDF63F.html

more information about VMware View and used ports,

http://pubs.vmware.com/view-50/index.jsp?topic=/com.vmware.view.security.doc/GUID-A0B8412C-6C42-4C78-90B2-C1B2A2237AD1.html

Thanks!

Hello Guys,

Today I found one interesting traffic in clients guest network: http://www.proxfree.com/

It wasnt under "Proxyes and Anonimizers" category list and was shown like web-browsing and http-direct with risk rating 1. However, one badguy managed to generate 644 MB traffic to this site, looks like he wants to bypass Barracuda application rules and was sucessful. So please, react on this and add this one to appropriate category list.

Regards,

A.

Google Drive is currently (5.4.4) being recognized as "Jabber General".

The outgoing connection is on port TCP-5222 to 74.125.136.125 (Google) in my example.

Also the "Avast! Streaming updates server" is not recognized as application, should it match on the application "Avast AV Update" ?

At the moment its marked as Web Browsing with context su.ff.avast.com

Can you correct this?

Hi Markus, the following applications should be also detected:

-iMessage on iOS Devices
-Messages on MAC OS X Clients

We really need an iMessage option for iOS devices.  Students can use it to send text and pictures messages.

Hi Cole,

thanks for your input. We are going to implement iMessage. For the time being you can block iMessage by blocking the Apple Notification Center application plus a 3 custom applications based on SSL with the following "subject common name": service.ess.apple.com, service1.ess.apple.com and service2.ess.apple.com

Update 18 Nov 2014

iMessage has been implemented and will be released with firmware version 6.0

Hello Robby,

the Avast Update server is adapted with release 5.4.5 or release 6.0.0 to match also against su.ff.avast.com.

We are working on google drive to be recognized again well, thanks for you needful hints!

Best regards

Alois
