Barracuda NG Web Filter Subscription option (aka IBM/ISS Orange Filter) End of Sale 28.Feb.2018

The legacy Barracuda NextGen Web Filter subscriptions (URL Filter database provided by the OEM IBM orange filter component) is going End-of-Sale (EOS).
The last day for new orders and renewals is 28.Feb.2018.

Effective immediately only 1-year renewals will be available, until 28.Feb.2018 (EOS date).

This also applies to the bundles including the legacy IBM/ISS Orange Filter: Barracuda NextGen Web Security Bundle (e.g. BNGF400a-w:  Malware Protection + Legacy NG Web Filter).

IMPORTANT: The "Malware Protection" subscription (e.g. BNGF380a-m) by itself is not affected by this EOS announcement.

Short Q&A:

Q: Why do the NG Web Filter subscription and NG Web Security subscription go end of sale?
A: Our OEM partner put the IBM Orange Filter web filter service we utilize for these subscriptions, on end of sale. We will no longer be allowed to re-sell and even re-new for contractual reasons.

Q: What is the replacement to the NG Web Filter Subscription?
A: The Barracuda URL Filter (same URL Filter database as on the Barracuda Web Security Gateway) is included with Energize Updates for every NextGen Firewall F.

Q: What is the replacement to the NG Web Security Subscription?
A: The Barracuda URL Filter (same URL Filter database as on the Barracuda Web Security Gateway) is included with Energize Updates for every NextGen Firewall F.
Additionally you will need the Malware Protection subscription (BNGFXXXa-a1/3/5) to match the feature set.

Q: Does this affect all NextGen Firewall F-Series platforms?
A: Yes: This applies to all Barracuda NextGen Firewall F-Series flavors: Barracuda Hardware Appliances F, Barracuda Virtual Appliances VF, and Barracuda Software Appliances SF/TSF as well for all Pool Licenses.

Q: Will the affected product options be supported and available in future firmware versions?
A: Yes, this product option will be supported and available in future firmware versions as long as we have active subscriptions.

Q: Does this affect the X-Series?
A: No: This does not affect the NextGen Firewall X-Series. For X-Series we always provided the Barracuda URL-Filter as the only option.
