Hi CR, are your vm's using the VMXNET3 network adapter?

Hi everyone,

I have a BBS 890 running firmware 6.0.07.62516 connecting to a vCenter 5.5 server. I'm having an issue with VM's losing network connectivity following a backup. This is very inconsistent, but happens to maybe one or two guests almost every night.

If I console to a VM that is experiencing this issue, the OS is responding normally and it believes it has network connectivity. Restarting the guest corrects the issue.

Has anyone else seen this occur? Usually this is an issue with the VMware environment, but this issue does not occur if I take a manual snapshot or vMotion a VM. This is only happening after the automated snapshots are taken by the BBS.

Thanks!

Hi Shawn,

Currently many of the guests are using the E1000 adapter. Those that are having the issue have all been E1000. Reading about this issue a bit more yesterday and today made me realize this needs changed, so thank you for the confirmation. I'll work on replacing the network adapter in all of the guests that are using the E1000 current.

Thanks again!
