I noticed on the basic tab under IP Configuration, there is a section called

Valid Test Email Address:

you can type in an email address and hit the button "Test SMTP Connection".

wanted to know if there is an API that allows us to perform that test ??

thank you.

If not does anyone have script that basically does this....?  i guess it would be telnet commands...?

Hi Alf,

There is not an API that can test this as of now.

However such a test is easily done with a simply telnet, a script can be written pretty easily.

There are alot  of samples out there for each system i'm just gonna leave you with a link on how to do this on Windows:

If you wanna write a program to do this, there are already premade classes in various programming languages that can be used to perform such a test.
