We're in the works to purchase a 350 appliance, and I'm going through the documentation and trying to wrap my head around how this works.
Our environment is running Exchange 2013. We have a plethora of PST files that people use for their own archive which I want to get rid of, and we also have a lot of bloat on our existing mail stores which we try to manage with quotas (which spawns the PST issue). I'm envisioning allowing exchange to maintain a year or so of data and then offloading the archive from that point onto the barracuda, as well as removing all of the PST files and bringing them into the barracuda.
So, do I use message stubbing to do this, on a schedule which has an age component? Does that mean I don't need to use journalling? From my understanding the journalling basically takes all messages from Exchange and deletes them and only keeps them on the archiver, which I don't think I want.
Or, do I setup archiving in exchange to put it to a different store after a certain age, and then that datastore has journalling on it?
Looking for some advice
