I've got a system that was set up back in March.  Is there any difference in the image now compared to what I installed at that point?

I'm moving my hosted servers to a new hyper V host, and am trying to determine if I should simply do a clean install of a current image on the new server, restore the configuration from a backup, and kill the old, or if I should go through the hassle to actually move the existing virtual appliance from the old server to the new.

Thanks for any advice for anyone who's done this.

Hi John,

I moved mine from a Hyper-V 2008R2 to a 2012 R2 host with no touble at all. I shut down the VM and copied only the vhd and made sure that the MAC-address of the new NIC ist the same as before.

All up and running within 30 minutes.
