Able to get DHCP addresses but unable to access the internet

I set up DHCP as a service on my NextGen F380a. The NG acts as a router with the default gateways on the NG. The NG is attached to an HP 48-port switch. With the vlans trunked to the switch.

 

If a user connects to the switch they receive a DHCP IP address from the NG but can't get out to the internet when we can 8.8.8.8 and 4.2.2.2 from the user's station.

 

The gateway route is routed correctly.

 

What would be the issue?

Do you see entries in the firewall log for the traffic from the client that won't connect?

Is it a layer 3 switch?  Do you have the default route pointing to the NG?

Hi Jonathan,

 

please connect to your NG by NG Admin and click on the Firewall tab. In there, please select "History" and filter for the source IP of the client that is unable to connect to the Internet. Your clients traffic might get blocked by the firewall engine. In that case you must allow the traffic by a firewall rule.
