Intent analysis

Intent Analysis

Best Answer Michelle Exner, 20 February 2017 - 11:23 AM

The intent block above is telling yo that in the email there is the URL www.plymouthart.ac.uk

On that website there is a link to the domain pcamis.co.uk. This domain is on our intent list of potentially dangerous domains.

One to the ways that the Barracuda Email Security services finds and blocks spammes is by reviewing websties that are linked to in emails.

You have serveral options.

1. If you are certain that pcamis.co.uk is not a dangerous URL you or they can request its removal
You can do this from our website http://barracudacentral.org(lookup page)

2. you can call into Barracuda Support and a technician can submit the message as a false positive.
This is the most efficient method. Our team will review the message and determine if the intent listing should be removed.

3. From the Barracuda Email Security Gateway go to the Spam Checking page and add the URI www.plymouthart.ac.uk to the intent exemption

The third option can be dangerous. It the link pointing to pcamis.co.uk was added by a hacker it could result in visitors getting a virus or malware. We see dozens of websites a day being hacked and having malicious content or links added to them.

Sincerely,

Hi - I'm getting messages being blocked apparently because of 'intent analysis'.  An example is below, regarding a totally valid message from Plymouth College of Art.  The reply to the message also gets blocked.  Is there a way we can stop this happening?  I don't want to be having to manually releasing every valid message when a work colleague or client tells me 2 days later that they didn't receive what was expected!

Recipients                   Action         Reason            Delivery Status

<sender>@pca.ac.uk Blocked       Intent Analysis (www.plymouthart.ac.uk(pcamis.co.uk)->blocked) Not Delivered

Many thanks

Mike

Why is Barracuda blocking outbound emails because the recipient's website has Intent Analysis blocked links?
