I was working with support and the technician got into SSH and ran a command line script (I think it was a script) to test bandwidth. I foolishly forgot to make note of it. Can someone please post that command?

Search for speedtest-cli in the internet, it ist a python script at github which you can download via wget and then make it executable.

Unfortunately the Admin does not allow to post external links, so you have to use a search engine.

Support used this command in one case to test ISP speed:

curl -o /dev/null http://speedtest.wdc01.softlayer.com/downloads/test500.zip

wget -O - --no-check-certificate https://raw.githubusercontent.com/sivel/speedtest-cli/master/speedtest.py| python

Works good! :-)

You could use a statically linked version of iperf 1.7.0.

Copy it to your boxes, make it executable (chmod +x) and donĀ“t forget to add a host rule permitting incoming port 5001 TCP (default).

So you can do speedtests between your boxes, from WAN port to WAN port or also inside VPN tunnels etc., you have a lot of flexibility to test what you want.
