Hello,

We have a number of (legit) websites that use new gTLD domain names, such as:

.network

.guide

.care

.health

When we send emails to our subscriber base, we OFTEN receive transient bounces from customers running Barracuda gateways. The error is:

554 rejected due to spam URL in content

When we change our links to point to our main .com website instead, the problem goes away.

Does the Barracuda team not keep up with gTLD releases, and assumes a new gTLD it does not recognize is automatically spam? This is a problem now that gTLDs are becoming much more popular. Is there a webpage somewhere that we can paste our HTML to test it against barracuda's spam filtering instead of trial-and-error by sending out emails and hoping they don't get blocked by Barracuda?

edit: to help Barracuda engineers troubleshoot, the .network domain is 100% tripping up the spam filter, so please look at that one first

As depressing as it is that representatives from barracuda generally do not participate in these forums, it is technically a 'user' forum. That is also depressing because it doesn't look like very many people with any actual knowledge of the products participate anymore.

All that complaining aside, you should open a case directly with Barracuda support about this issue.

Thanks. It tells you a lot about a company if they don't pay attention to their own community forums.

It speaks something like "here, we setup a walled garden for you all to figure things out for yourselves, so we don't have to be bothered by you"

This message is a bit late, lollerskates, but if the recipients are running Barracudas, they might be deliberately blocking the new gTLDs. In the Barracuda appliance I manage I have some of them deliberately blocked in Block/Accept, Reverse DNS, Custom Reverse DNS rules. Our company is focused on a specific industry and we do not need spam from .faith, .pizza, .realestate, .scholarships, etc
