Implementing a Backup 690 and am messing around with backing up some of my VMware VMs, one of which is a big fat file server. I'd like to have it backed up so the VM can be restored as is, but it appears if I do so I wind up with a gigantic initial backup due to the fact it is provisioned as Thick Lazy Zero. Is this as expected and is there any way around it that maybe I am not finding in my search? While the VM is thick provisioned it is only utilizing half of that provisioned space.

I am backing up this VM at the moment as an agent backup as my understand is it has a smaller eventual footprint.

Thank you
