I have one backup that is giving me the error 'Backup Aborted Critical error occurred' with little to no other information. It is an agent-less backup of a VMware vm, Server 2012r2 that runs our Avaya IP Office voicemail system. It had been running just fine until a month or so ago.

If I reboot the vm I get maybe a week of 'successful' backups then it's back to the error above.

The following system events are logged on the server:

Event ID 140 (warning)

The system failed to flush data to the transaction log. Corruption may occur in VolumeId...

Event ID 137 (error)

The default transaction resource manager on volume blah blah blah encountered a non-retryable error and could not start.  The data contains the error code.

Event ID 50 (warning)

{Delayed Write Failed} Windows was unable to save all the data for the file . The data has been lost. This error may be caused by a failure of your computer hardware or network connection. Please try to save this file elsewhere.

Any thoughts here? Should I maybe switch to installed agent backups?

Nothing? Nobody else has seen this?
