Wizard interrupted error when attempting to install any version of VPN client

Hello,

 

I am trying to install the Barracuda network access client version 5.0.1 on Windows 10 Pro version 1803. The error message I get is:

 

"The wizard was interrupted before Barracuda Network Access Client could be completely installed.

 

Your system has not been modified. To complete installation at another time, please run setup again."

 

I tried:
 

1. Disabling all antivirus and firewall programs

2. Checking admin privileges for user (user is local admin)

3. Installing different versions (5.0.0, 4.3, 4.2, 3.7 all fail with same message)

4. creating a new user as local admin and installing under that account

5. Updating Windows with all updates

6. Installing from .msi file (file found in C:\users\user\appdata\local\downloaded installations and was copied to desktop before running it.)

 

Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thank you!

Have you checked the install log file for any error messages?

My colleague once had this and figured out that the MS windows installer service was not running and obviously not successfully triggered by the VPN client setup.

manual start of the windows installer service solved the problem.

Thank you for the info. Do you know where the install log file is saved?

 

I will check the MS Windows installer service at my next opportunity.

I am having the same issue, But mine is windows 7 Professional. Everything goes smooth until final completion of installation step and says, "The wizard was interrupted before Barracuda Network Access Client could be completely installed".

 

The Troubleshooting i followed, 

 

1. I was using ESET Anti-Virus. I thought it was blocking me and tried after uninstalling ESET still again the Network Access Client 5.0.1 installation stops exactly where it was before.

 

2. I Turned off the windows firewall and used open access system.

 

3. Downloaded and installed with new Barracuda Network Access Client EXE Installation file.

 

4. Deleting User account and Created new local Administrator account then tried but no luck.

 

5. Windows update is up to date.

 

Can any one help me on this.

This is a very common problem for us too.. especially on HP laptops.

I would advise to also remove any extra 'security' software and 'connection management' software that the manufacturer has so kindly provided on the default Windows installation.

# Installation with domain adminstrator failed.

# My solution was to install the VPN client with the initial user account, created while Win10 installation (.\USERNAME).

# Installation takes a while - no panic - be patient :)

This was awful.  I tried Olaf's approach but after 2.5 hours i gave up on the slow (hung?) installation and canceled it.   Next, i opened task-manager and stopped Windows Explorer and then from task-manager (File-Run New Task) i started the BarrucudaNAC.msi (you can find it like Matteo describes on stack exchange (see NOTE below) - then it tells me that i need to stop Task Manager which i do - and the install runs to completion successfully.

 

I imagine you can avoid digging out the BarracudaNAC.msi and just run the Setup.exe (my step above where i start the install from task-manager) and immediately after starting it close the task-manager.  After 4 hours i'm not inclined to experiment.

 

I was working on Windows 10 machine (build 1909) by the way.
