Hi guys,


We have three questions regarding the FS2 series.


We are rolling out SC2.1 appliance and wanted to upgrade them to the latest Firmware before connecting to the Control Center. Is there a manual way how to upgrade (Like with the F Series) or do we first need to connect to the CC?


Also we couldn't find a serial port on the SC2, is there a way to use the USB Port?


Also, we have the issue, that the SC boxes connect to the FSAC, but that doesn't accept the VPN connection. How can we check, if the FSAC received the configuration of the SC appliances? Are the credentials somewhere in the config files?


It would be nice to have these points mentioned in the documentation.

thanks for your post.


At moment you need to connect to CC for a firmware upgrade. Nevertheless, starting new firmware 2.0.3, which has been released recently, the Web-UI of the SC2 offers a firmware upgrade. Thus, in future it is possible to do firmware upgrades without CC connectivity.


SC2 does not have serial port per design. 


Please contact Barracuda support regarding FSAC connection and configuration. They can help step-by-step to set it up.

Hi Jo,


in my case, an additional FSC box could not connect because the FSC pool license (EU), which is assigned to the FSAC, was not upgraded to include another instance of FSC boxes. The FSAC therefore denied to establish the VPN tunnel. But this was pretty easy to figure out because it was clearly written in the VPN log on the FSAC, so I guess you have already checked that.
