Security on Support Tunnel

Remote support

Best Answer opjose, 27 November 2018 - 10:26 PM

The support tunnel works through a NAT firewall so you do not need to open ports to use it.

It only functions while it is enabled. When you turn it off there is no remote access to your device.

So as long as the 300 is not directly on the internet there is no issue.

Do you expose your e-mail gateway to the internet to permit users to see quarantine mailboxes and encrypted e-mails?

Hi,

We have a customer who is currently using Barracuda ESG 300. However, they are very restrict to allow any remote activity including this support tunnel that make us difficult to request for Barracuda Support. Do you have any suggestion how to convince them that the support tunnel is safe and secure to use?

Thank you for your help.

Best regards,

Izzat

Thank you for the clarification. No, we don't allow that.
