We have some windows machines that need to connect automatically at windows startup. I have this working but not without a password prompt. Is there a way I can authenticate without being prompted for a password(saved encrypted password or something like that?) Id prefer it to require a password so someone can not simply pull the vpn file off the machine, i know a password is not full proof, but is an added step and we have many firewall rules in place to avoid any real problems if such a thing happened.

If that is not possible, is the x.509 cert the best way to authenticate without the use of a password?

Is there a better way to do this all together that I have overlooked?

Thanks for any help!
